In the last ten years, Alicante DO has been winning respect for its new light, fresh wines and interesting varietal reds produced by pioneering bodegas.
The winelands divide between two contrasting areas . The largest one is the arid valley of the Rio Vinalopó, which stretches behind Alicante city (also called Alacant in Valencian dialect). Here the Monastrell grape shares the vineyards with new varieties. The second smaller one, incorporated into the DO in 1987, is La Marina, on the northern coast, where Moscatel grapes flourish in the warm, humid climate.
Alongside the new red wines emerging here, Alicante’s classic dessert wine, Fondillon, has been exported for centuries and is enjoying a renaissance. This traditional wine is made from grapes allowed to over ripen on the vine; it has a high alcohol content and turns from red to amber with ageing

The inland
Spain is also home to some dramatic mountain ranges, clean sandy beaches. The large bustling town of Torrevieja, is just 15 km away from Hotel and Restaurant “El Corazon, with hundreds of bars, restaurants etc, and a lovely seaside promenade with night time market. But you have Quesada town on your doorstep, this comes with shops, bars, restaurants. The local water park, Torrevieja town and open markets are open every day during the Summer months. They are an abundance of flamingos and other wildlife on the saltlakes, and the area is the second healthiest place in the world mainly due to the saltlakes. One of the greatest tourist attractions of Torrevieja has always been its variety of entertainment for families and young people. There are more than a hundred night bars, the majority concentrated in the so-called El Baluarte area in the La Punta district, which have become a major attraction for thousands of people from all over the world.
                             
           
Market
There are many street markets in the towns of Spain. These markets cater for a wide range of goods and articles, some offer antiques and bric-a-brac whilst many offer the fresh fruit and vegetable produce of their particular region. Others are virtual florist and plant garden centres.Hours change considerably within each town. Most usually open in the morning, some during the afternoon and just the odd one or two during the evening.
